Kudal is a census town in Sindhudurg district. It is situated on Karli River in Southwest Maharashtra. Kudal is the fourth largest town in Sindhudurg after Sawantwadi, Malvan and Kankavali.
Kudal railway station is located on the konkan railway route and connect the town with Mumbai on the North and Mangalore on the south. The Deccan Odyssey train also stop in Kudal.
Kudal is located at almost 16.9km far from its district headquarters Oros and just 474km away from the capital city of the state, Mumbai by road.
The Kudal railway station offers convenient access point for tourist visiting Malvan and Tarkarli.
Nearest Airport is Dabolim Goa(75km) , Belgaum (116km), Hubli (192km), Sindhudurg (30km).
In Kudal we can go through by road. Kudal is connected by Bus with Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad etc. Kudal is connected by Goa – Mumbai highway. National Highway 66 passes through Kudal. Apart from that, it also has two bus station. Old one situated in Market while the new one is just adjustment to the NH66.

The climate is mostly coastal and humid. Annual temperature rises from 22°C to 40°C. Kudal gets very heavy rainfall of 1100mm per year.

This taluka also has a small village named Nerur which is big tourist attraction. Here the biggest annual fair of Shri Dev Kaleshwar which is the temple at the greatest Lord Shiva. Shri Saibaba Temple
Shri Saibaba Temple at Kavikate is considered to be the first temple of SaiBaba in Maharashtra. The temple was built by Mr Ramchandra Ravjee Madave. Baba gave him one rupee and with that one rupee in १९१९ the first death anniversary was celebrated at Kudal. and on १९२२ he built a Temple for baba at kudal. Kavikate village is located about half a mile to the west at Kudal.
